Academic Planning Unit is directly under the office of the Provost. The unit under its director performs day to day running of the College, particularly on academic matters which include the following:

1. The director of the Unit is in constant consultation with the Provost and Deputy Provost on academic matters
2. He supervises the process of examination in the College using NCCE Guidelines on academic Programme
3. He supervises the moderation of examination questions and marked scripts
4. He supervises the collection and compilation of result in College at the end of each semester or session.
5. He supervises the presentation of collated and processed result to the Academic Board after the examinations were written.
6. He reports to the Deputy Provost on general conduct of each semester or sessional examination
7. He acts as Chairman of Examination and time table committee
8. He supervises the proposal of Academic Calendar of events and publishing same after ratification.
9. He presents memos to the Academic Board on new courses to be introduced for deliberation.
10. He liaises with Tetfund Desk officer to oversee Tetfund training and projects

15. Academic Planning and Curriculum Development
16. He performs any other duty as may be assigned by the Deputy provost or the provost from time to time.

College of Education, Zing establishes several units that includes; Internet Café, Multi-Media Centre, E-Library, Management Information Centre (MIS) and Computer Based Test Examination (CBTE) centre in order to become compliance with the emerging trend of Information and Communication Technology in educational carrier of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The management of the College came up with Information Communication Technology Center (ICT) as a directorate and appointed Director to harmonized the activities of all the units for efficiency and productivity.
